Berlin - December 2007

As we were spending Christmas in Germany with Christopher & Lizzie, we all went up to Berlin for three days just prior to Christmas,before returning to Gütersloh to their house.  We stayed at the Hotel Berlin and managed to visit several Christmas markets and most of the major sites including the Pergamon Museum, the Charlottenburg Palace and the Berlin Zoo, one of the most impressive in the world. Whilst there we had one of the best Thai meals we have ever experienced at Edd's Thai Restaurant. We also went to see the Blue Man Group - an incredible and very different show!

Family Reunion - November 2007

Anthony & Lee and Carrie, Jeff and Polly came over for a quick trip at the beginning of October and we met up with Jonathan, Joanna and Annabel at Kilmeston. Unfortunately Christopher and Lizzie could not make it, as Christopher was on exercise in Germany.   

France - September 2007

Our trip to France in September started with a family reunion just outside Paris with members of Mimi's family, some of whom she had not seen for many years.  We then went off to the Loire to visit some of the chateaux we had last been to over 30 years ago, and then down to Gaillac via Bordeaux, stocking up on some of our favourite wines before returning home via Champagne, where we discovered some new wines. 

Our Wedding Anniversary - August 2007

This year our wedding anniversary was cold and damp - typical of the summer this year. Undeterred we decided to visit two National Trust properties near Sevenoaks, Kent that neither of us had been to before, and had a most enjoyable day. We started by visiting Knole House and then went on to visit Ightham Mote. Photographs of the day can be viewed by clicking here.

Annabel's Christening - 19 August 2007

Annabel Tatjana Bacon Scott was christened on Sunday 19 August 2007 at St Gregory's RC Church, Alresford, Hampshire. Afterwards there was a lunch party in Kilmeston. To see the photographs of the christening click here.

Annabel - March 2007

Annabel our first grandchild was born on 13 March 2007 at the Conquest Hospital, Hastings. This was not the plan, but Annabel decided to arrive whilst Jonathan and Joanna were staying with us for the weekend.
